Opinions

Jun 17 / 23

Every asshole has an opinion, not excluding myself.

Take things with a grain of salt.

Don’t get bent out of shape over the opinions of others.

Don’t speak in absolutes.

“Some” is not “all”. “A few” does not mean “many”. Even ‘facts’ have exceptions.

Avoid dogmatism — speaking as opinions are facts.

Opinions are only obvious to the owner.

Be gentle.

Opinions are only obvious to the owner. Can’t ridicule others to share your view. Don’t come from a place of superiority.

Perspective is a product of our unique environment and experiences.

Don’t take a definitive stance about others unless you’ve walked in their shoes. To acknowledge an opposing view is to accept people come from a different place. Dismissing others is saying we understand completely about things we may never will.

It’s classic to hear the rich see their success as solely a product of their own merit and determination, as if everyone is in the same positions to make the same choices.
