Collect experiences, not things.
It’s ok to occasionally be impulsive. Chop it up to experience. But if we strive to be just 10% more mindful, we can be 10% happier.
Don’t buy things just because.
Breaking down costs to hours worked, and opportunities sacrificed, makes me cognizant of the real value of each purchase.
De-clutter
If it’s not been touched in 3 years, get rid of it.
Decluttering my life, helps me simplify, and focus on the things most important to me.
Quality over Quantity
Ironically, it saves more money, despite spending more on things I love. It’s better to have a few articles of clothing you love, than a closet full of sweaters you don’t wear.
Love people and use things. Because the opposite never works.

Materialism is a lack of love and esteem.
When aren’t able to find the honor and respect we need in normal ways, our careers and wealth becomes our identity and self-worth. People who are flashy are telling us they have an intense need for love.
If you can ride a bike through town and that’s ok. Something’s gone right in your past.
